Well, Thanksgiving 2008 has come and gone. It was another great year at the Shaw house. We had plenty of great food, family was together and we have so much to be thankful for. It's been a tough year in many respects and sometimes all of that can overshadow all of the goodness we have. I started a new job with Chipotle this year and that's been challenging in many ways; not the physical job itself, that actually came pretty easy...it is the balancing it all with my responsibilities at home. That was the hard part. I don't do it very well, so I'm still working through some things but I expect 2009 will be much better in that regard. My kids are getting so big. Jake is 17, Jordan is about to turn 12 on 12/19, Joey is 9, Jamisyn is 6 (and quite a little lady) and Jentry is 3. Time is moving so fast...I'm not ready for that. I need to continue to stay focused on my family; they are my first priority and I need to ensure my actions reflect that and back up my words.
Evan's sister Colleen came to visit for a couple of days over the holiday and it was great to see her. I know Evan really enjoyed spending time with her but the kids really loved having her down. She played with them pretty much non-stop. It was really nice.
We started the annual tradition of watching holiday movies (okay, we pretty much do that all year-round) and it was really fun to do. As I said we had some really good food; ham & turkey of course. We're still eating leftovers and I swear they are just as good.
Happy Thanksgiving.
